Deadline for responses to RFP A/P 2015-01Postponed for a year at request of Régie intermunicipale de l’énergie Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine

Hydro-Québec Distribution announces that it is postponing by a year the deadline for submissions in response to request for proposals A/P 2015-01 for a block of power produced by a wind farm with a desired installed capacity of 6 MW, to eventually be integrated into the Îles-de-la-Madeleine system. The Régie intermunicipale de l’énergie Gaspésie–Iles-de-la-Madeleine requested the postponement to allow it to locate and confirm a new wind farm site and allow interested parties to prepare their bids.

The site originally chosen by the Régie failed to meet some of the criteria set by the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques concerning the protection of flower species.

Hydro-Québec Distribution issued the RFP on October 23, 2015, to select a proponent to develop, build and operate a wind farm using proven technology under a 20-year electricity supply agreement, in partnership with the local community.
