24 Hours of Science at Hydro-QuébecSpotlight on the Mousseau mural
As part of the 24 Hours of Science event, which will take place on May 8, 2015, Hydro-Québec is pleased to welcome you to its head office for visits and workshops highlighting two ingenious lighting innovations: the Mousseau mural and the electric lightbulb.
Mousseau mural
Created by Jean-Paul Mousseau and unveiled in 1962 at Hydro-Québec’s head office, the mural entitled Lumière et mouvement dans la couleur represents a fusion of art and technology. Discover the inside story behind this work of art, which uses an interplay of lights to create remarkable colorscapes that are in perpetual flux.
Scientific workshop
The visit will feature a most enlightening workshop on the evolution of the electric lightbulb, from its invention by Edison to the present day LED bulb, with a nod along the way to the neon lighting used to illuminate Jean-Paul Mousseau’s mural.
