The city of Rosemère will offer public charging stations for electric vehicles

The founding partners of the Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the city of Rosemère for the deployment of two public charging stations for electric vehicles. They will be installed by summer 2014 in the city hall parking lot, located at 100, rue Charbonneau, and at the municipal library, at 339, chemin de la Grande-Côte.

“True to our reputation of being an environmentally-conscious city, Rosemère is proud to do its part to encourage alternatives to conventional means of transportation,” said Mayor Madeleine Leduc. “This fits in perfectly with the municipal administration’s firm desire to multiply efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

“We are delighted to welcome Rosemère, a dynamic city located close to major roads, such as highways 15 and 640,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “Montréal’s northern suburbs are a key area for the Electric Circuit and we are always looking for first-rate partners there.”

The Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec, with more than 250 Level 2 (240-V) charging stations and one fast-charge (400-V) station in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 61 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. It will continue to expand in order to offer greater geographical coverage and serve more electric vehicles drivers in many regions of Québec.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
