Press Release
The city of Rosemère and the Electric Circuit inaugurate two new public charging stations for electric vehicles
The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce that the city of Rosemère is inaugurating two public charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) today. Installed in the parking lots of city hall, located at 100, rue Charbonneau, and the municipal library, at 339, chemin de la Grande-Côte, the charging stations are now available to drivers of plug-in electric vehicles.
“This new service is the next logical step for Rosemère, which has been recognized for its innovation primarily through national and international awards in the fields of the environment and sustainable development, in addition to initiatives designed to limit vehicle idling and support active transportation. We would like to sincerely thank the Electric Circuit for supporting our efforts to reduce our collective ecological footprint,” noted Mayor Madeleine Leduc.
“We are delighted that a city such as Rosemère now offers charging services to owners of electric vehicles,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. With these two new charging stations, the Electric Circuit is continuing its expansion in the Laurentides and pursuing its objective to support all electric vehicle drivers.”
The Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec.
The network comprises two 400-V fast-charge stations and close to 300 Level 2 (240 V) charging stations in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 73 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. It continues to expand in order to offer greater geographical coverage and serve more EV drivers in many regions of Québec.
Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile application for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
