Hydro-Québec supports the Earth Hour global initiative

Between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, March 23, 2013, Hydro-Québec will turn off the electric signs on its head office building as a gesture in support of Earth Hour, the global sustainability movement.

However, the company’s year-round energy efficiency efforts go well beyond this symbolic action for Earth Hour, as evidenced by the many programs implemented in its administrative buildings and those intended for customers.

In fact, over the last 10 years, the company has cut its energy consumption at the head office by 20%, largely by replacing its lighting system and better operating its ventilation devices.
