Request for proposals for the purchase of 6 MW of wind power: Hydro-Québec Distribution selects a proposal

Hydro-Québec Distribution has announced that it has selected a proposal under request for proposal No. A/P 2015-01, issued on October 23, 2015, for the purchase of wind power produced in Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

The proposal selected is that put forward by Valeco Énergie Québec inc. for the Parc éolien de la Dune-du-Nord project, with a contractual capacity of 6.4 MW.

The term of the contract is 20 years and the guaranteed commencement date of energy deliveries is October 1, 2019. If signed, the contract will help reduce the use of heavy fuel oil and lower GHG emissions by some 17, 000 t CO₂ eq., or approximately 13% for the Îles-de-la-Madeleine network.

The contract will be submitted to the Régie de l’énergie for approval in the coming months. Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton acted as Hydro-Québec Distribution’s official representative in the tendering process.
