Press Release
Hydro-Québec is proud to present the 2012 edition of the Défi sportif
Again this year, Hydro-Québec is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 29th Défi sportif AlterGo. This unique sporting event will be held in Montréal and Longueuil from April 23 to April 29, 2012, and will bring together over 4,000 promising disabled athletes from the elite and school sectors from some 15 countries, competing in 13 sports.
More than athletes is more than the event’s motto: it is a sporting image firmly focused on the athletes, their performances and their desire to fully live their life. Over the seven days of the Défi sportif, participants will surpass themselves in athletics, basketball, boccia, fencing, goalball, rhythmic gymnastics, ball hockey, swimming, para-cycling, powerchair football, soccer, table tennis and volleyball. During the event, Montréal will also be hosting the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup as well as the Coloplast Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championships with the final match being held on Sunday, April 29th, at 2:00 p.m.
A supporter of the Défi sportif for the past twenty-two years, Hydro-Québec is proud to champion the athletes as they strive to win. In sponsoring the event, we hope to help participants reach beyond their limits and soar to new heights.
Hydro-Québec invites the public to attend the competitions to support the athletes and enjoy an energizing experience!
