A public charging station for the city of Richelieu

The Electric Circuit announces the signing of a partnership agreement with the city of Richelieu for the installation of a public charging station for electric vehicles. As of this spring, visitors will be able to charge their vehicle in the parking lots of the tourism information office, located on Chemin des Patriotes.

“The city of Richelieu is proud to take part in this collective effort to ensure an improved quality of life for future generations. It is a major step for the city to encourage sustainable transportation. Richelieu is a city for families and it is up to us to ensure that our children are able to take advantage of a cleaner environment,” said Mayor Jacques Ladouceur.

“We are very pleased to welcome the city of Richelieu to the Electric Circuit, offering an additional charging point in the Montérégie, a dynamic region committed to developing transportation electrification,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “This initiative shows the region’s enthusiasm and is in line with our strategy to densify the network and allow drivers of electric vehicles to stop in this well-located municipality.”

The Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec, with more than 360 stations, including 8 fast-charge stations, in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 98 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned.
