The Electric Circuit and the united townships of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury are pleased to announce the commissioning of a charging station in the parking lot of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury’s city hall on Chemin du Hibou. The charging station is now available for drivers of plug-in electric vehicles.

“We are expecting more and more electric cars on our roads,” said Mayor Robert Miller. “This new public charging station will surely meet the needs of residents, while also providing charging for tourists and visitors. By installing this first charging station on our territory, we are sending a strong message to modern, connected villagers, with an environmental conscience and a love for the great outdoors. Conveniently located in the heart of the village, the charging station is close to many sites of interest.”

“We are delighted with this new charging station in Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “This charging station has arrived in time for the start of winter activities in the region, in addition to increasing the service offering in the greater Québec area that now features 43 public charging stations. And that number will keep growing!”

“By positioning itself as a leader, the municipality hopes that Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury’s business community will follow suit. We are convinced that this can become an important asset for a municipality like ours, which draws tourists and is close to a major city,” added Mr. Miller.

About the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network has close to 350 public charging stations in operation in select parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 86 private and institutional partners have joined The Electric Circuit.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile application for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
