The Electric Circuit is expanding in the Centre-du-QuébecDeschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent joins the Electric Circuit

The founding partners of the Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the municipality of Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent for the roll-out of a public charging station to be installed in the Relais des Navigateurs parking lot on Route 132.

“On behalf of city council and as mayor of the municipality of Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, I am very proud to offer this service to our residents and visitors,” said Mayor Christian Baril. “It’s a great step forward for us!”

“We are delighted to welcome Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent as the first municipality in the Bécancour RCM to join the Electric Circuit,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “The arrival of a new charging station along Route 132, in one of the most beautiful villages in the St. Lawrence valley, is excellent news for citizens as well as for electric vehicle drivers travelling in the region.”

The Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec, with more than 250 Level 2 (240-V) charging stations and one fast-charge (400-V) station in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 62 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. It will continue to expand in order to offer greater geographical coverage and serve more electric vehicles drivers in many regions of Québec.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
