Appointment of Pierre Despars as Acting President and Chief Executive Officer

The Québec Cabinet, on the recommendation of Hydro-Québec’s Board of Directors, has appointed Pierre Despars as the company’s Acting President and Chief Executive Officer as of April 11, 2023. (insérer lien vers décret)

Mr. Despars joined Hydro-Québec in 2020 and currently serves as Executive Vice President – Strategy and Development. In this capacity, he oversaw the development of the Strategic Plan 2022–2026 with his team and the company’s stakeholders. He also took part in the conclusion of the power purchase agreement to supply electricity to New York City and the acquisition of Great River Hydro in New England. Previously, he enjoyed a 27?year career at Énergir where he held several key positions, mainly in finance. His vast experience and in-depth knowledge of the energy sector and its players make him the ideal person to act as CEO on an interim basis.
