Manage Rental UnitsSelf-serve: A smart choice for rental property owners

The “Manage Rental Units” tool is a cost-effective option for owners and managers of rental properties. Starting April 1, 2018, owners and managers can access the Hydro-Québec | Manage Rental Units tool to check the accuracy of their rental units, update them as needed and make any changes required.

From now on, Hydro-Québec allows you to choose in advance whether or not you want to be responsible for the electricity bill when the unit becomes vacant. If you choose not to be, the service will be interrupted when the tenant leaves. Remember, though, that you will still be responsible for the electricity bill for the common areas, where service is maintained.

You can make the change directly in the Manage Rental Units self-serve tool. You also have the option of restoring service for the winter (December 1 to March 1).

So with just a few clicks, you can now manage who is responsible for the electricity bill for all your units, free of charge.

With the Manage Rental Units tool, you can sign up for email alerts. For example, we can notify you when there is a service interruption in one of your units, when a tenant has reported a change of address or when you have to assume responsibility for the electricity bill.
