Press Release

The municipality of Piopolis joins the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit and the municipality of Piopolis are pleased to announce the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles. Visitors can now charge their vehicles in the parking lot of the municipal building located at 403, rue Principale.

“The installation of this charging station is a concrete step to support constructive initiatives that allow our residents to do their part to protect their living environment. The municipality is known for its recreation, and environmental protection is now becoming strategic for our residents, visitors and vacationers,” noted Mayor Marc Beaulé as an explanation of why Piopolis chose to become an Electric Circuit partner.

“We are pleased to welcome the municipality of Piopolis to the Electric Circuit,” said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec. “By offering the public charging service to both residents and visitors, Piopolis, a village with a rich history, is encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles while contributing to developing the network. With this new charging station, the Electric Circuit now has 45 charging stations in Estrie.”

Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the implementation of the infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network comprises over 700 public charging stations, including 50 fast-charge stations, operating across 16 Québec regions. Since its launch in March 2012, 149 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and the network now has over 8,600 members.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned. The Electric Circuit card also allows users to access the 150 Québec charging stations of the FLO network (formerly the VERnetwork).
